The broken weather has not helped the charter angling business around the coast,and has made it difficult to work offshore for wrecking and sharking.When the weather has been kind to us the sharks are in abundance with 12 tagged on the Lady Patricia on a day last week and on other trips with the boats we have always managed 5 or 6 landed, average size about 70 lbs.Stone Bass have again made an appearance with 2 fish seen swimming around the dubby trail but no successful hook ups.Plenty of Whiting and Haddock.Inshore wrecking producing good ling to 12lbs,with many of the fish being stripped by sharks on the way up.In the Bay the species count has been impressive with anglers catching mackerel,coalfish,Pollack,cod,Ling,Whiting,Haddock,launce,LS Dogfish,Bull-huss,Conger,Ballan wrasse,Cuckoo wrasse,Thornback ray,Specimen Dab,Plaice,Turbot,rockling,gurnard and mullet.Inshore marks are producing good runs of thornbacks with 12 caught in one hour a few days ago,the heaviest a near specimen caught on light line.The Bass fishing has been hard to figure out with some clients having good sport and others not so lucky,for instance an English couple went out on the self drives yesterday ,landed 7 Bass and the other boats didn’t see a trace of a fish all day.The same on the shore with some anglers getting the timing right and having good fishing .We were getting the charter boats ready on last Saturday when we could see the Bass chasing the sandeel near the pontoon,armed with a light spinning rod and a savage lure Sean Maxwell who crews on the Lady Louise cast out and straight away hooked a near double figure Bass,one the second cast Paul landed another fish around the 6 lbs,talking about being in the right place at the righ time,
