There’s a touch of Autumn this week, with water temp well down by as much as 5 degrees and the fishing in the bay and offshore for sharks reflected this.
The Lady Patricia still managed 5 sharks to 60 lbs,and while out on the shark grounds with George Karbos on a nature trip on Wednesday we observed quiet a few around the boat but not as many as usual.
The reef fishing improved as the tides picked up and we managed some good Pollack, conger,Ling and Thornbacks from the inshore grounds. It was nice to see the juvenile anglers landing so many good sized fish this week, plenty of stories for the start of school no doubt! Mackerel are again very plentiful and with so much feed in the bay the next while should prove productive.
The Bass fishing is good at the moment with anglers having success with lures and good size fish from the estuary on live bait, and good fish on rag worm at Timoleague.
