The last couple of weeks has seen some tremendous fishing in Courtmacsherry,from the inshore self drives,from the shore anglers and from the charter boats.Firstly from the charter boats, the fishing in the bay has produced good pollack fishing to 10lbs,conger to 30lbs,several common Skate to 160lbs caught by Alex Roe from Dusseldorf a fight which lasted over one hour,a fish of 140lbs caught by Bert his first fishing trip to Ireland the fish having being tagged previously and a fish of 140lbs for Niall ,skipper of the Lady Patricia.
The Shark fishing has been very exciting with several fish over 100lbs (that is aprox total length of 2.3m,)Günther Ertl from Germany landed a fish of 2.34m.Evin O Sullivan a fish of 2.25m,and several other fish over 2m for Dutch ,English,Swiss and German Anglers.Raymond Jourdain a Swiss angler on a shrecking trip landed a Blue of 2m and also had some good Ling and Conger one fish intercepted by a Seal which proved to be Quite an experience.
The self drives have been producing some great Bass fishing with some sessions producing 30 fish up to 10lbs.Live bait for Bass from the charter boats using mackerel has proved to be productive.Good fishing also reported from Shore anglers especially from Low tide to 2 hrs of the flood with several fish to 6lbs.(See Gallery
