Sharking on Sat was the last time the weather was suitable for fishing offshore, that day we landed 3 blues to 60 lbs and had some garfish just under the Specimen weight. The rest of the week we combined a mixture of fishing for pollack on the inshore reefs and anchored up for Thornbacks.
The bass fishing in the estuary has been excellent but live bait seems to be the best method as the water is very cloudy,we landed fish to 9lbs approx on both Monday and Tuesday and yesterday had fish to 6 lbs.
The new policy document on Bass fishing by the IFI makes interesting reading and the proposed new regulations will enhance this fishery so it can be enjoyed in the future,we at Courtmacsherry Angling have deceided to implement the new regulations on our charter vessels and Selfdrive boats immediately.
The weather prospects are looking better for the weekend and next week so with the tides slackening off,we hope to target Ling on the inshore wrecks and a few days Sharking as well.
